I'm excited!

It's almost retreat time. Dark and early Wednesday morning I take off to go to meet up with a bunch of online quilty friends. Some of them, I've talked to for several years, and will finally be getting to meet, in person. Some others, I've already had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with and *all* of them are friends that I so want to see. We will be enjoying ourselves in the midst of the Ozarks.

I'm packing up my projects and clothes and sewing supplies and checking that list not only twice, but more like 5 or 6 times. I'm not a purse-person, but I'm finding myself wishing that I had a purse to keep all my goodies together in. I think I have a bag around here that will do, I just have to find it. Now, to get off the computer and get ready for a quilting retreat. Woo Hoo!

Always look for the silver lining

No pictures today, just thoughts. :o)
My husband is without a job for now and I'm off work, still recovering from shoulder surgery, so...we are both not working, at the same time. We've been puttering around the house, doing a little cleaning and straightening and visiting with each other. Definitely nice. We have decided that since neither of us are working this is a perfect time to go visit family. We both come from large families, so we're going to zip to Arizona and visit part of that large family. Yeah, Oregon to Arizona is not exactly zipping, but it should be a wonderful chance to visit and just be together. We'll get to visit his brother, my brother, my sister and his aunt & uncle. Everyone is getting older and some family members have serious health problems, so we thought let's go now. It's much more fun to go when we can visit instead of waiting until there's a funeral. I always intend to visit with people, but life seems to get in the way. Well, my mom died last summer and since then, I've had 2 brothers end up in ICU. (They're both doing OK now.)
Being out of work is not a good thing, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise.
Oh, and I am looking forward to the difference in the weather; it was snowing here today, but I'll bet it's a little warmer in Phoenix. :o)
